Dawn Of The Dead 2004 Scene Analysis

In this scene is where they have just got into the lift to escape from the fast moving monsters in the bottom floor of the mall. This is a medium shot from where the doors are, this shot creates the sense of being claustrophobic because the lift is so packed, but also panic because there is no way out as the zombies are everywhere. Zombies in modern films are a lot more faster and scarier then the original Dawn Of The Dead, because audiences have gotten a lot more stronger over the years because we see a lot of horror on the news. While they're panicking in the lift contrapuntal music is being played from the lift, this is ironic because lifts play calm music because because you're suppose to enjoy your day out shopping. Furthermore, Ana is in the center wearing clothes that cover her, showing that she is the final girl that doesn't care about fashion. Also she has blonde hair that challenges stereotypes, whereas most blonde girls in horrors are the victims.
